Dr. Richard D. Kimmel

DO, FCCP, FACOS, RPhS

Dr. Richard Kimmel is the owner and founder of the Kimmel Institute, a premier vein treatment, laser and aesthetic practice located in Boca Raton.

A graduate of The Lawrenceville School, Emory University and the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr Kimmel has maintained his Thoracic and Vascular Surgical practice in Boca Raton since 1991. His credentials and experience have made the Kimmel Institute a designated training center for other physicians and staff in the use of the Dornier Laser System for vein treatment.

Dr. Kimmel served as the President of The American College of Osteopathic Surgeons (ACOS) in 2013 – 2014. The ACOS is committed to assuring excellence in osteopathic surgical care through education, advocacy, leadership development, and the fostering of professional and personal relationships. In addition, he remains actively involved, both locally and nationally, in promoting better healthcare policies and practices through the ACOS, FOMA, and the AOA.

Dr. Kimmel has held previous positions with the ACOS including serving on the Board of Governors from 2006 through 2015. He was President-elect from 2012-13, President of the organization from 2013-2014, and Immediate Past President from 2014-15, when his term-limit expired. He is a Fellow of both the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons and the American College of Chest Physicians, and has held positions as a Clinical Investigator with the NIH, an Affiliate Member of the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center of the University of South Florida and as an Assistant Clinical Instructor for Surgery at the Nova-Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Davie, FL. In addition, he has served on and held leadership positions at several local hospitals in committees such as Cancer Committee, Surgical Review Committee and Utilization Review Committee.

Cecilia Bradley

Office Manager

Cecilia Bradley serves as our Office Manager. She began her career in the medical field before transitioning to a 25-year career in broadcast journalism. Her strong management skills and warm personality allow her to work closely with the office staff and address patient needs. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Cecilia enjoys experiencing the many cultures of South Florida. She has two adult children and now spends much of her free time caring for her Goldendoodle, German Shorthaired Pointer, and Munchkin cat.

Melissa Briggs

Ultrasonographer – RVT

Born and raised in Michigan, Melissa brings a cheerful Midwestern approach to the Kimmel Institute. Patients love her personality and find her very easy to talk to. In addition, she is also a very experienced ultrasonographer and truly enjoys interacting with patients. These skills carry over into the procedures that she assists with the KI practitioners. She enjoys fitness, food, and time with her husband, two young children, and her Goldendoodle.

Born and raised in South Florida, Gloria is licensed as an RVT/RDMS and brings several years of hospital experience with her to the Kimmel Institute. She also has her bachelor’s degree in Health Administration. With a passion for talking with and helping patients understand their ultrasound testing, she prides herself on providing kind and skilled care. In her spare time, she enjoys watching movies and shows, and she loves getting lost in a story.

Ingrida Lomberg

Medical Assistant

Born and raised in Lithuania, Ingrida earned her nursing degree from the Faculty of Nursing in Kaunas. For 10 years, she worked as a nurse at the Red Cross Hospital before moving to the USA. After coming to South Florida, she earned a degree in Medical Assisting from the Florida Career College and has been working in the medical field continuously. As a mother of three, she also speaks three languages (Lithuanian, Russian, and English). Ingrida also volunteers by working for the local Lithuanian community in her spare time.
